Power the whole thing with 5VDC (4-7V works) and you're ready to rock. Each one has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making the design slim.

Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. The hilt has a brushed aluminum finish that can be polished. The metal part are made of light weight aluminum, and the whole saber has a real nice feel, not too heavy. As you can see from the one photo, the hilt is hollow so you can install electronic and a blade.
The round part with the holes was hot glued into the piece that screws into the bottom of the hilt, and the 10 counter piece was inserted into the rectangular hole. Basically all I did was hot glue the LEDs into the bezels, then screw the bezels into the hilt. The last photo shows the parts before completion, though the emitter also unscrews. Although the first 4 photos show an assembled saber, this is actually a simple kit that I decided to complete.
